Sometimes it is required to reduce the overall number of colours in a design. When importing a photograph, the best time to do this is when converting the design. The reason for this is that Cross Stitch Professional has very sophisticated image processing that works best on TrueColour images.
In order to reduce the number of colours of an existing design, the program removes the least used colours and replaces them with the nearest available in the current palette.
The command displays the current number of colours and by simply reducing this value, colours are removed.
